Delhi to Ramnagar is approximately 250 km (5–6 hours by road or overnight train), making it perfectly manageable for a Friday night to Sunday evening trip. The experience — waking up in a forest resort, doing an early morning safari in dense sal forest, and potentially seeing a tiger — is genuinely extraordinary and completely different from anything available within Delhi.

When Should You Leave Delhi?

•Friday 6:00 AM departure: Avoid Delhi traffic, reach Ramnagar by noon, afternoon safari on Day 1.
•Friday 6:00 PM departure: Evening drive (lighter traffic), arrive Ramnagar by midnight, morning safari Day 2.
•Overnight train (Thursday night Ranikhet Express): Arrive Ramnagar 6:35 AM, full Day 1 for safaris.
•Avoid Friday 9 AM – 11 AM departures: Delhi NCR traffic peak, significantly longer journey time.

Which Zone for a First-Timer?

For a Delhi weekend trip, Bijrani is the default recommendation — it is the closest core zone to Ramnagar, has the highest jeep-safari tiger sighting rate, and our weekend package is built around it. If you have time for a third safari, we recommend an afternoon Garjiya safari as your second zone — the Kosi riverbed terrain is completely different from Bijrani's sal forest and provides excellent additional sighting opportunities.

Tip

Book your weekend package at least 10–14 days in advance, especially for November to February. Bijrani Saturday morning permits are the most in-demand and fill fastest. Friday afternoon permits are generally easier to secure.
